Hakoro needs no user account, no email address and no password. There is no server, no leaderboard and no analytics. Your progress lives on your iPhone only.
The app shows advertising through Google AdMob and is funded by it. Ads can be removed permanently with a one-off in-app purchase.
For personalised advertising we ask your permission first — through Google's consent dialog and, on iOS, additionally through Apple's tracking prompt. If you decline you still see ads, just not personalised ones. Everything else works unchanged.
The game itself runs offline: levels are computed on the device, not downloaded. With no network you simply see no ads.

The app stores the following in your device's app preferences (Apple's UserDefaults). This is the complete list, not a selection:
Nothing else is stored. In particular there is no identifier — no user ID, no device ID, no advertising ID — and none of this can be linked to you as a person. This data is never transmitted and disappears entirely when you delete the app.
The levels themselves are not downloaded either: level 890 is the same board on every iPhone because it is computed from its number. That is why the app needs neither a connection nor a download.
Two ways, both complete:
You do not need to send us a request for this, and one would find nothing: we hold no data about you.
Provider for the European Economic Area: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Ads appear in exactly one place: as a full-screen ad when you move on to the next level. Not while you are playing, not on the screen showing your result, and not during the first solved levels.
To deliver, measure and protect advertising against fraud, Google processes among other things:
Google may also use this data across apps to build profiles. That is precisely why we ask first.
Your consent can be withdrawn at any time, without giving reasons: through "Privacy options" in the advertising section of the app's settings. Apple's tracking permission is changed under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. A withdrawal takes effect from that moment; processing carried out before it remains lawful.
Turning ads off entirely: the one-off in-app purchase "Remove ads". After that the advertising SDK is no longer loaded and no advertising data is collected any more.
Further information: Google's privacy policy, "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" and Google's frameworks for data transfers.
The "Remove ads" purchase is handled through Apple's App Store. We receive no payment data — no name, no address, no card number. Whether the purchase exists is queried from Apple; we store no personal data for it.
The app requests no system permission for location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera or notifications. Sound and haptics use no permission. The only prompt is Apple's tracking dialog, which belongs to advertising and which you may decline.
If you email the address above, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). The mailbox provider is Google; the message is kept for as long as it is needed for follow-up questions and is deleted afterwards.
These pages are hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). When you visit, your browser transmits technically necessary data — IP address, time, page requested, user agent — which GitHub processes in server logs. We set no cookies on these pages, embed no third-party fonts or scripts, and run no analytics.
Listed for completeness, because the absence is a statement too. Hakoro has no server of its own, no account, no leaderboard and no analytics or crash-reporting service. We ourselves collect no personal data, share none and sell none. What Google processes as part of advertising is set out in full in section 4 — and only there.
You have the rights set out in Art. 15 to 21 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
In practice these rights here concern only an email you may have sent us (section 7). We cannot give you information about your game progress because we do not have it — it is on your device, and only there.
The app is suitable for all ages. It does not ask for an age, collects no data itself, and offers no way to contact other people. It does contain advertising (section 4) and one in-app purchase (section 5); both are declared in the App Store age rating.
We update this policy when the processing changes — for instance because a service is added. The date above shows the current version. We announce significant changes in the app.
